Major Projects

The East - West Trail

The East-West Trail is a premier project of Park Spirit Worcester. Completed in June 2021, the 14-mile well-marked trail extends from the shores of Lake Quinsigamond on the Eastern border of the city to the far Western border of Paxton.

It crosses paths with Worcester’s past and present and those who have carved it out and maintain it with love hope it is a big part of the city’s future.

Nordic Ski Park

The Nordic Ski Park, situated on 68 acres of Newton Hill at Elm Park, is maintained by volunteers from nonprofit groups Park Spirit and Friends of Newton Hill. The area includes beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain.

Skiing at this unique urban ski area is free, and it’s a delight. Great work by these two groups. Worcester is a snow magnet, so most winters, the skiing is great on Newton Hill.
