Ty Cobb field is located on James Street near the Worcester-Auburn line, on land that used to be owned by the Wright Wire Company, which let the city use the space for baseball fields until it went out of business. The city bought the land in the early 1990s from the company.

Ty Cobb features three ball fields, one of which has a concession stand. The park is maintained by Ty Cobb Little League, which is a nonprofit organization and they take care of the property’s maintenance.

In 1992, the Ty Cobb Little League held a fundraising drive and raised $20,000 to construct the building for a concession stand and storage.
